U.K. indie-rock act Kaiser Chiefs will go head to head with melodic rock trio Keane in the U.K. album chart in October.

Kaiser Chiefs today (Aug. 5) confirmed their new album “Off With Their Heads” (B-Unique/Polydor) will be released Oct. 13 in the U.K.; yesterday Keane announced the same release date for their third album, “Perfect Symmetry” (Island).

Kaiser Chiefs have also recruited Lily Allen and U.K. dance act New Young Pony Club for backing vocals for the single “Never Miss A Beat”, released physically Oct. 6.

“Off With Their Heads” was recorded with producer Mark Ronson in London after an initial session for a planned EP resulted in a batch of new songs. The album is released Oct. 14 in the U.S. via Universal and a day earlier in the rest of the world.

Last month Kaiser Chiefs were awarded an IFPI Platinum award in recognition of one million European sales for their sophomore set, “Yours Truly, Angry Mob”.
