Slipknot is to preview its new album "All Hope Is Gone" (Roadrunner Records) on HMV's social discovery site www.getcloser.com, which allows users to discover, rate and share information on their favorite music and movies.

The U.K. entertainment retailer's Web site, which launched in July, has secured exclusive 90-second clips of every track on "All Hope Is Gone", from Aug. 17 ahead of its release on Aug. 25.

"The fact that Slipknot have decided to give getcloser.com the exclusive of their new album highlights the importance of specialist music sites to both the industry and consumers," said HMV e-commerce director Gideon Lask in a statement. "Securing an exclusive from a world-famous band such as Slipknot is a huge achievement for getcloser.com - particularly in its first month of open beta launch."
