MySpace Australia has joined forces with the ANZ bank to offer a pre-paid Visa card.

The MySpace Recharge Card is billed as the first re-loadable prepaid Visa on the market down under. The cards costs cost $5.95 Australian ($5) and users can load up a maximum of $1,000 Australian ($844) via online banking or participating ANZ merchants. Cardholders don't have to be customers of the ANZ, but they do need a MySpace account and they must be over 13 years of age.

MySpace Australia business development director Nick Love said the card would give under-18s who can't qualify for credit cards the freedom and security to "spend their own money on items such as concert tickets and clothes, at millions of online and retail stores worldwide."

"These options are only set to grow with the upcoming launch of a range of ecommerce services in the new MySpace Music service," he said.

MySpace is promoting the launch by offering customers who sign up the chance to win tickets to the Australian leg of Britney Spears' "Circus" tour this November.

The ANZ Bank boasts more than 6 million customers, and is among Australia's big four banks.
