Noel Fielding, best known for his work with radio and TV comedy series "The Mighty Boosh," has been confirmed as a captain on the new series of BBC Two pop quiz "Never Mind the Buzzcocks."

The show, now in its 22nd series, will feature a succession of guest hosts following the departure of Simon Amstell after three years with the program. These include Blur drummer Alex James and comedy performers David Walliams, Frank Skinner and James Corden.

Phill Jupitus, who has been with the program since it began in 1996, will continue as a team captain. Celebrity guests will fill the remaining seats for a weekly quiz of music-related topics.

Katie Taylor, executive editor of "Buzzcocks," said in a statement: "It's great to welcome so many comics and top musicians, many who have proven themselves as Buzzcocks panellists in the past, to the host hot seat. Noel Fielding will bring his eclectic music taste and surrealist humour, whilst Phill, having been there since day one, now takes the title of the elder statesman of the show."

"Buzzcocks" is produced by Stu Mather and executive produced by Jim Pullin.
