The Hamburg Reeperbahn Festival and the German Federal Association of the live entertainment industry (IDKV) in Hamburg have formed a partnership.

During the Reeperbahn festival, Sept. 23-25. September 2010, the IDKV and its 235 members will have its annual meeting and celebrate its 25th anniversary on September 23.

The IDKV will also work with the Reeperbahn Festival for the program of the
Reeperbahn Campus congress and will provide experts for panel discussions and keynote speakers.

"After the few years of its existence the Reeperbahn Festival has been developed into one of Germany's most important club festivals and is an important meeting point for the German music business, says Jens Michow, president of the IDKV. "Therefore, it was obvious to use the synergy effects in a close cooperation."

Alexander Schulz, managing director of the Reeperbahn Festival, added: "The presence of the most important German promoters will certainly support our event. It is the opportunity to integrate important music business people and artists represented by them in the Reeperbahn Campus congress. Furthermore there are ideal possibilities for international music-business people to make contacts with the German entertainment industry."

The Reeperbahn Festival was founded in 2006 as a three days music-festival, based on the model of the South By Southwest Festival in Austin. In 2009 the Reeperbahn Campus Congress took place for the first time, offering a market place for international professionals of the music, film, technology and games business.

The IDKV provides German concert and tour organizers, artists' agencies and managers, as well as marketing event agencies, with comprehensive representation and consultation. It represents a total revenue for the concert organizing sector of €3.7 billion ($5 billion).
