Frankfurt-based Marek Lieberberg (MLK) was awarded with the German Live Entertainment Award (LEA) as tour promoter of the year.

MLK presented shows by Depeche Mode, Coldplay, Linkin Park, Green Day, Xavier Naidooo and U2 last year.

DEAG Classics in Berlin was awarded artist agent of the year for the success with the violinist David Garrett. DEAG CEO Peter Schwenkow said in front of the 900 guests at the Color arena in Hamburg that the company philosophy of handling management, tour promotion and recordings is what made Garrett a star.

The award for the open-air location of the year went to Filmnächte am Elbufer in Dresden.

The Peter Rieger concert agency in Cologne received awards for the "Funhouse" tour of Pink, and supporting young talent for the singer/songwriter Philip Poisel from Stuttgart.

The Berlin-based agency Melt! Booking was given awards for the Melt! festival for electronic music and, for the German punk-group Bonaparte, club tour of the year.

The manager of the German hip-hop act Die Fantastischen Vier, Andreas 'Bär' Läsker, received the LEA award for best concert at the Heimspiel in Stuttgart. Independent artist management of the year went to Markus Bruns, responsible for the German singer Peter Fox.

The lifetime achievement award went to agent, music-publisher and label owner Hans R. Beierlein in Munich. He broke the German language entertainer Udo Jürgens 40 years ago and French artists such as Gilbert Becaud and Charles Aznavour in Germany. Beierlein also promotes the German MOR music genre volksmusik and established various German MOR TV shows.

The jury prize went to FKP Scorpio, Hamburg for their family concerts and for local promoter of the year to Semmel Concerts, Bayreuth/Berlin.

The gala was presented April 15 by the German pianist Götz Alsmann. It was organized by German concert promoters association IDKV and the German magazine Musikmarkt Live. The prize ceremony was judged by a jury of music journalists.

IDKV has 320 member companies. The association represents German concert and tour promoters, artists' agencies and managers as well as marketing event agencies.
