British rap stars Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah are both set to feature in the U.K. edition of interactive hip-hop game Def Jam Rapstar - one of several European exclusive versions of the forthcoming game, which will each contain territory specific content.

Exclusives confirmed for the U.K. edition include Tinie Tempah's "Pass Out," which hit No. 1 on the British singles chart earlier this year and Dizzee Rascal's "Fix Up, Look Sharp," taken from his 2003 Mercury Prize winning debut "Boy In Da Corner."

The French edition of Def Jam Rapstar will feature Sefyu's "Molotov 4" and "Ma Benz" by NTM featuring Lord Kossity. Urban music fans in Germany can look forward to interacting with Sido's "Mein Block (Beathoavenz remix)" and Kool Savas's "Futurama."

Commenting on the decision to launch the game with territory-specific exclusives, Kevin Liles, president and CEO of Def Jam Enterprises, said in a statement: "Each territory is creating their own movement, style, artists, and songs that resonate with the hip hop experience in their respective country."

"Hip hop is global, therefore Def Jam Rapstar must also be global, and provide local content providers the opportunity to represent hip hop in their own language in their own voice," Liles added.

Similar in style to the globally successful SingStar gaming franchise, Def Jam Rapstar utilizes an interactive 'rap karaoke' format whereby users can record themselves rapping along to selected tracks or freestyle over instrumentals and then upload videos to the Rapstar website (www.defjamrapstar.com).

As previously announced, distribution for the game, which is due for worldwide release later this year on all new generation consoles, will be jointly handled by music-game powerhouse Konami and Autumn Games (Billboard.biz, Apr. 10). An exact release date is yet to be confirmed.

According to developers Terminal Reality, who produced the game in partnership with Def Jam Interactive, a division of Def Jam Enterprises, and New York-based 4mm Games, more than 40 songs will be included with Def Jam Rapstar upon release.

"Gold Digger" by Kanye West, "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang" by Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg, "C.R.E.A.M" by the Wu Tang Clan, "Juicy" by Notorious B.I.G., "Live Your Life" by T.I. featuring Rihanna, and "A Milli" by Lil' Wayne are among the tracks already confirmed.

"Classic tracks from the cream of European and US artists will ensure that Def Jam Rapstar sets its stall from the start as a cutting edge title that will showcase the greatest talent from all over the globe," commented Peter Stone, U.K. general manager for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH, in a statement.
