U.K. venue operator Academy Music Group (AMG) will open its 14th venue, the O2 Academy Leicester Sept 23.

U.K. urban star Professor Green will officially launch the 1,450-capacity venue, which is housed within the University of Leicester Students' Union complex.

Opening alongside the purpose-built venue will be two new additional live music sites -- the 500-capacity O2 Academy2 Leicester and 250-capacity O2 Academy3 Leicester, both of which are also housed within the Students' Union Percy Gee building.

In line with a series of management deals that AMG inked earlier this year with several U.K. Students' Unions, the University of Leicester retains ownership of the building premises with AMG managing all three music venues for a 10-year term. AMG has similar deals, lasting for terms of between three and 10 years, in place with two additional Students' Union-owned venues in Liverpool and Hertfordshire.

Other U.K. venues operated by AMG, whose shareholders include Live Nation, SJM Concerts and Metropolis Music, include O2 branded sites in London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Oxford and Bournemouth.

Professor Green, whose real name is Stephen Paul Manderson, recently entered the Official U.K. Charts Co. albums listings at No. 2 with his debut studio set "Alive Till I'm Dead" (Virgin Records).

Corinne Bailey Rae, The Magic Numbers and Plan B are among the acts booked to play the O2 Academy Leicester in the coming months.
