Eminem, Linkin Park, 'IZ' Win German ECHO Awards, Bruno Mars Performs (Watch)

While three German acts Unheilig, Ich + Ich and Lena were the big winners at last night's 20th annual ECHO music awards in Berlin, three American acts -- Eminem, Linkin Park and Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole -- also took home honors (complete list below).

American chart-topper Bruno Mars performed at the ceremony (video below).

The pop grop Unheilig, featuring the singer Der Graf from Aachen Germany, won the Album of the Year award for "Große Freiheit" (Universal) and National RockAlternative Artist/Group of the Year. The record's producers, Henning Verlage, Der Graf and Kiko Masbaum, also won "Producers of the Year." "Große Freiheit" (Universal) has sold over 1.5 million copies.

The German duo Ich + Ich with singer Adel Tawil and female singer Annette Humpe, who also sold over a million of their album "Gute Reise," won Best National Rock/Pop Gropu" and Best National Live Act.

Annette Humpe, also received a lifetime achievement award for her cumilative work as a composer lyricist and producer. Florian Drücke, managing director of the German music industry group BVMI, told Billboard that, "the Deutsche Phono-Akademie honors Annette Humpe as someone who helped to form the German music-scene." Humpe released her first album in 1980 with the band Ideal. Tom Bohne, Senior Vice President Universal, told Billboard: "For me she is one of the most important musicians in the history of German pop music."

The winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, Lena, received two ECHOs winning both Best National Rock/Pop Artists and National Newcomer of the Year.

Three American artists won Echos for their work in 2010: Eminem won the Best Hip Hop/Urban Artist (his fifth Echo win); Linkin Park won for Best International Rock/Alternative Group; and Hawaiian singer Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole won a posthumous Hit of the Year ECHO for his rendition of "Over The Rainbow."

British artists receiving Echos included music vet Phil Colins, who won Best Male International Rock/Pop Artist; the re-united former boy band Take That for Best International Rock/Pop Group; Hurt, who won Best international Newcomer, and Amy Macdonald who won Best International Female Rock/Pop Artist.

Breaking the awards down by label, Universal was the year's big winner with 14 ECHOS, followed by Sony with 5 and Warner with 4 awards. The indies MCP and the Beggars Group received one ECHO award each.(Full list of the winners below)

The Awards show, which celebrated its 20th year, were hosted by the German female entertainer Ina Müller. The ceremony featured performances by Take That, Adele, Hurts, Bruno Mars, Unheilig, Lena, Herbert Grönemeyer.
