On Billboard's Social 50 chart this week, Shakira jumps to No. 1 for the first time, following the birth of her son Milan on Jan. 22. She displaces Justin Bieber, who falls to the No. 2 spot.

The Social 50 chart ranks the most popular artists on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, SoundCloud, Wikipedia, Myspace and Instagram. The chart's methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist pageviews, song plays and reactions.

Shakira's Instagram 'Bumps' Her Into Top Five on Social 50 Chart

The sudden ascension on the tally is due to an outpour of support from online fans, congratulating the Colombian pop star on her new arrival. In the 114 weeks Shakira has resided on the Social 50 chart, this is her first week in the No. 1 position. Her previous peak at No. 2 occurred in February 2012, after she performed at the NRJ Music Awards in France.

As reported last week, Shakira’s birth was celebrated by fans online via an online baby shower campaign through UNICEF, where users logged in via Facebook or Twitter to visit her and boyfriend, FC Barcelona star Pique’s, virtual living room.

JT Suits Up: Justin Timberlake continues to soar on the wings of "Suit & Tie" (featuring Jay-Z), the first single off his upcoming album The 20/20 Experience. This week he rises 17-15 in order to reach the highest position he’s yet to achieve in the 85 weeks Timberlake has resided on the Billboard Social 50 chart.

Online conversation about the former 'N Sync member has increased in recent weeks, peaking on Jan. 14 when the single was released. That week, over 356,000 people were talking about him on Facebook, while VEVO viewership soared to 2.6 million for the song's lyric video.

Fan acquisition for JT wasn’t quite as high as it was the previous week when the song initially debuted -- he adds 397,000 followers across Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, a 5% decline over the previous week.

Beyonce's Super Social: A slew of events correlate with Beyonce’s rise (9-4) into the top 5 of the Social 50 tally. On Jan. 21, she stirred up controversy during President Barack Obama’s inaugural ceremony when she sang along with her pre-recorded version of "The Star-Spangled Banner." The following day, she debuted her new Beyhive blog that features fashion, videos and art from Beyonce and her fans. The events coalesced into a 73% rise in overall reaction across multiple channels over the previous week. She added over 5.5 million new followers across Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.

Rounding out the rest of the top 10, Rihanna remains steady at No. 3 as One Direction falls 2-5 in order to make room for the slew of artists who broke into the top five. Britney Spears tumbles ever so slightly (6-5) while Taylor Swift slides from the top 5 (4-7). Bruno Mars steps down a notch (7-8) while Eminem rises to break the top 10 (12-9). Alicia Keys jumps back into the top 10 (19-10) after she released a new single "B.N.M. Part 2" to her Soundcloud page. It has received over 89,000 plays on the platform to date.
