As part of its increasing number of exclusive music and artist-related offerings, Gilt City is hosting two members-only events with star Enrique Iglesias in New York and Miami. Attendees get to meet Iglesias, listen to tracks from his upcoming album and also sit at an intimate Q&A session.

A first Iglesias event already took place at the Tenjune in New York City Dec. 13 and a second is scheduled at the SL Miami at The James Royal Palm on Dec. 19.

With a mere $50 price tag that also included two drink vouchers and hors d'oeuvres, the Iglesias event was a steal that sold out in both cities within minutes of going on sale.

But as with other Gilt City offerings, the idea is to offer exclusivity and unique content; for the artist, just being on the site translates to hefty promotion before a  discerning audience.
Although only some 100 members get to go to the Iglesias events, for example, over 8 million Gilt members will see the promotion on Gilt’s homepage.

“We know that the landscape of bringing new music to fans is changing rapidly,” says H.L. Ray,  director of Gilt City’s Entertainment Group. “Music as content is being consumed today very differently than it was five to ten years ago. With that in mind, Gilt City represents a huge opportunity for artists to reach 8 million members that are mobile, very engaged and all about being the first to experience new content.”
The Iglesias events are the latest in a series of high-profile music-themed events hosted by Gilt. Last September, Gilt City partnered with Gloria Estefan to host an album launch for her new set, "The Standards." And just last month, the site hosted a book launch by Mexican pop star Thalía.

Already, the site offers special seating to concerts and specialty curated events, including its annual “Better Than Backstage” party at Lollapalooza.

“We've created 'lifestyle' programming that allows artists to plug into the platform and reach our members in an organic way, digitally and via intimate events,” says Ray. “And it is not just one hit. We work with artists on an ongoing basis for single, album, tour presales and beyond. "
Iglesias’ new album is due out in early 2014.
