The Billboard Latin Music Conference will celebrate its 25th anniversary in Spring of 2014 with three days of panels, showcases, special awards and exclusive Q&As, culminating with the annual Billboard Latin Music Awards, broadcast live on the Telemundo network.
Presented by State Farm, the Billboard Latin Music Conference has grown from a one-day event featuring five industry panels into Latin music’s biggest, longest-running and most prestigious gathering. Taking place April 21-24 at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami, the Latin Music Conference has served as ground zero for countless collaborations (including Enrique Iglesias with Wisin & Yandel), new artist signings and a plethora of business deals and new product launches.
The 2012 event famously featured and in-depth interview with Pitbull and the late Jenni Rivera, whose participation at the conference and award show was featured as an entire episode on her “I Love Jenni” series on the mun2 network. In 2013, the conference featured exclusive Q&A’s with top Latin Grammy winner Carlos Vives and with megastar Gloria Estefan, who spoke publicly for the first time about her new album, The Standards.
“State Farm is honored to be a part of the Billboard Latin Music Conference tradition as it celebrates 25 years,” said Tim Van Hoof, Assistant Vice President, Marketing at State Farm. “This event is a significant pillar in the world of Latin music and we are happy to be able to have been a part of it for the last five years. We look forward to another exciting event in 2014.”
This year, the conference will also feature its fourth annual “Marketing Exchange” – a programming block focused on the latest trends in Latin music marketing. “The Marketing Exchange” will also host the fourth annual Billboard Latin Music Marketing Awards, recognizing the integration of music and marketing by honoring agencies and labels that had successful campaigns during the past year. More news on the Music Marketing Awards will be announced soon.
In addition, attendees will be treated to the 12th annual Billboard BASH, a prelude celebration to the Billboard Latin Music Awards presented by State Farm® and featuring award finalists.
The conference culminates with the Billboard Latin Music Awards, a three-hour multi-million dollar production broadcast live on Telemundo.
“For the past 25 years, the Billboard brand has been the leading advocate and the go-to name for Latin artists and the Latin music industry worldwide,” said Leila Cobo, Billboard’s Executive Director for Latin Content and Programming. “The Billboard Latin Music Conference existed before any other conference dedicated to Latin entertainment worldwide and we as a brand are immensely proud to say that today Billboard continues to be the undisputed place to be for any artist, manager, label, promoter or brand that is serious about the Latin music industry.”
