Pete Manriquez Goes to Washington:
Veteran radio programmer Pete Manriquez has been name PD of CBS Radio Tropical WLZL (El Zol, 107.9 FM) in Washington, D.C.  Manríquez will start in his new post Oct. 28. He was most recently PD for SBS’ bicultural Los Angeles urban station KXOL (Latino 96.3 FM). Prior to that, Manríquez was VP programming for Univision Radio. “Everywhere Pete has worked, he has taken his station to the top of the ratings with his exceptional leadership,” said CBS Radio SVP/DC market manager Steve Swenson.

Miguel “WK” Lua
Miguel Lua has been appointed head of global marketing at WK Entertainment, the management firm whose clients include Colombian star Carlos Vives. Lua was previously senior product manager for Universal Music Latino/Machete Music, where he spent 12 years and where his roster of acts included Don Omar and Wisin & Yandel. Lua will now oversee international marketing campaigns for Carlos Vives and help WK founder Walter Kolm (the former president of Universal Music Laitino) kick off his urban music management department. Lua will relocate from Los Angeles to WK’s offices in Miami.
Vikki Carr Going to Beverly Hills
Mexican American singer Vikki Carr has signed for representation with APA in Beverly Hills. She will be rep’d at APA by Danny Robinson and Keith Naisbitt. And will continue to be managed by Milt Suchin and Dann Moss. One of the first Latin crossover acts, Carr celebrated 50 years in the business with her 2012 album “Viva la Vida”, which garnered a Latin Grammy nomination this year for Best ranchero album. She is currently finishing her biography, slated for publication in 2014.
Marco, Gutierrez, Enrique's Extend Autor3s Concerts in Mexico; Marc Anthony Crashes
Singer/songwriters Gian Marco, Amaury Gutierrez and Luis Enrique kicked off “Autor3s,” a new intimate concert series taking place at the Lunario—an approximately 1,000 capacity theater---at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional. The series kicked off Oct. 22 and was originally running nightly through Oct. 28, but its initial success has led to the show's extension. The series will feature performances by such talent as Aleks Syntek, Alexandre Acha, Lena and Sandoval.  The Oct. 22 performance was highlighted by a surprise appearance by Marc Anthony—in town for a performance—who sang “Hasta que Conocí,” his first major radio hit, penned by Juan Gabriel. The Auto3s series was launched by manager Mauricio Abaroa via his companies EarthTown Entertainment, The Town Management and label e35 Music. Abaroa’s clients include Gian Marco who is nominated for a Latin Grammy. The Auto3s series is slated to travel to different Latin American cities.
Lexus Goes Latin With SBS
Lexus has associated with SBS Interactive—the digital and social media division of Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS)—to launch a Lexus-branded radio station. VidaLexus is available online via computers and smart phones and will feature Latin music and entertainment 24/7.  Programmed by SBS, the station plays a variety of Latin music and lives on SBS’ webpage as well as on the pages of all the network’s radio stations. Listeners can also tune in by downloading SBS’ app.
