Cash Money's ever-expanding empire now includes hip-hop (Lil Wayne, Nicki MInaj and Drake among othgers), pop, R&B and rock artists, a book publishing division (which reacently inked a deal with Rev. Al Sharpton), a spirits brand, film and, as of today, apparel. The new venture is being spearheaded by Cash Money Records co-CEO and co-founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams who it turns out has a penchant for fashion.
Today Williams and music merchandising company Bravado announced the launch of two apparel brands Rich Gang and YMCMB which was unveiled today at the Agenda Trade Show currently underway in Las Vegas, NV.
"As a longtime fashion enthusiast and the architect of the YMCMB lifestyle, it makes perfect sense to partner with the esteemed Bravado and move into fashion and launch my apparel brands," Birdmand said in a statement.
The Rich Gang brand, which was created around the release of Cash Money's "Rich Gang" compilation album, will encompass every apparel category including fashion mix, activewear, denim, basics, outerwear and, as the release stated, "quality fabrics and luxury materials, including high thread counts and unique touches such as python accents."
The YMCMB brand, in collaboration with Lil Wayne, will feature more comfort and relaxed-wear apparel, as well as t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts.
"I am excited to bring elements of my lifestyle to the masses with the Rich Gang, and with Lil Wayne to be able to share the feel of our labels with the YMCMB Apparel brand," Birdman stated.
