Nike Sportswear is sponsoring the Boredoms' 88BoaDrum, a large-scale drum performance piece which will be simultaneously performed in New York and L.A. on Aug. 8.

The fashion brand, which is sponsoring the event for the second year, will give out t-shirts on the night featuring designs by Yamantaka Eye, founder of the Japanese noise rock band.

The New York event will commence at 8:08 p.m. EST. Gang Gang Dance will conduct an 88-minute piece composed by Eye.

The L.A. event will begin at 8:08 p.m. PST at the La Brea Tar Pits, and will consist of 88 drummers selected by Hisham Bharoocha, artistic director for the Boredoms and 88BoaDrum.

Last year's event was dubbed 77BoaDrum and took place in Brooklyn Bridge Park. However, the Boredoms performed the piece themselves, along with 74 other drummers.

Tickets to the events are free and will be given away from July 18 at, Amoeba Records, Other Music and Sound Fix Records.
