50 Cent Planning Headphone Line, Again

Headphones, headphones and more headphones. Seems like you can't open a browser these days without someone starting a new headphone company Now 50 Cent is back at it after a deal with Sleek Audio to create, promote and distribute a new line of wireless headphones fell through this spring.

His SMS Audio company acquired KonoAudio late last month and according to TechCrunch plans to put out new headphones in the coming weeks.

No word yet on the details of the devices, but they reportedly will include wired, wireless and earbud devices. And from the press release, it sounds like 50 is taking a big page out of the Beats By Dre book and jumping on the "quality audio" bandwagon.

"I'm eager for my fans to hear my music the way it was intended - the way it was mastered in the studio," 50 says in a statement. "The acquisition of KonoAudio will enhance our ability to bring the absolute, highest-caliber audio products to the market."

Beats by Dre is the line of headphones put out by Beats Electronics in partnership with Monster, which recently added smartphone manufacturer HTC as a majority owner.
