New Year's Eve 2013 Photos: Stars Ring in the New Year
Jason Aldean performs on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on December 31, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.

Jason Aldean launched the final leg of his Night Train tour with a packed arena crowd on Jan. 16 in Des Moines, Iowa, the first stop on a final stretch that will run through mid-March.  More than $5 million in ticket sales from the first eight venues on the tour’s last jaunt give the country superstar the top ranking on this week’s Hot Tours recap.  With award-winning duo Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr onboard as support acts, the nine sold out shows drew more than 101,000 fans.

Last year the Night Train tour topped $47.8 million in sales from a 62-show North American trek that spanned eight months, kicking off in February.  With performances at arenas, outdoor amphitheaters and stadiums, Aldean played to sellout crowds throughout the year, ending 2013 ranked No. 21 on Billboard’s list of the top 25 tours of the year.  The current tour will wrap on March 15, but the reigning ACM Male Vocalist of the Year will launch his 2014 summer trek on May 1.  The Burn It Down tour is set to play in 45 North American cities during the year, including performances at major league baseball stadiums, arenas, sheds and summertime country festivals.

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris lands in the runner-up slot among the week’s top-grossing Hot Tours with $2.9 million in revenue reported from an arena date in England at the end of 2013 as well as his headlining jaunt in Mexico in January.  He shared the bill with DJ Tiësto for a Dec. 21 performance in Manchester at Phones 4u Arena, one of five December dates the co-headliners played at arenas in Ireland and the United Kingdom.  They kicked off their Greater Than tour in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Dec. 18 and performed in Dublin and London before wrapping in Glasgow, Scotland on Dec. 22.

The EDM superstar’s concerts in Mexico occurred on two consecutive days beginning with a performance on Jan. 10 in Monterrey.  Harris played to almost 7,500 fans at the Auditorio Banamex to kick off the two-show stand in the Latin American country.  The following evening, he performed for a stadium crowd in Mexico City, logging a sold ticket count of 29,550 at the capital city’s outdoor sports and concert venue, Foro Sol.  Dutch DJ R3hab provided support for both events during the Grammy-winner’s headlining stint in the Mexico.  Future appearances for Harris include a return to Las Vegas and his stint as resident DJ at the Hakkasan nightclub on select nights in February and March.  He is also booked to play the Coachella Festival in California in April as well as festivals in Europe during the summer months.
