Sony Music Entertainment is expanding its EDM team with the hire of publicist Toby Andrews, who will step into a senior marketing role. He will be based in London.
"We are thrilled Toby is joining us at Sony Music. As we continue to focus on the EDM genre, he is a perfect addition to our team,” says Adam Granite, executive vice president, International, Sony Music. “I have no doubts he will make an immediate impact with several key releases over the next few months from around Europe."
Andrews, 24, worked his way from intern to COO during his five years at dance-focused U.K. PR firm Get In, where he managed the international press corps covering Belgium mega-festival Tomorrowland, and spearheaded worldwide campaigns for artists during pivotal periods in their careers, like Avicii (“Levels”), Martin Solveig (“Hello”), and Porter Robinson. His title at Sony will be senior manager, International Electronic Music Marketing.
Sony entered into a strategic alliance with U.S.-based dance indie Ultra Music a year ago, sharing assets and resources, and naming Ultra’s founder/CEO Patrick Moxey President, Electronic Music for Sony.
"Toby is one of the best in the industry at dance marketing and his experience comes from firsthand success in breaking new and established artists,” says Moxey. “We welcome him to our team."
