PETE SEEGER TRIBUTE IN NYC TO GO AHEAD

The GRAMMY Museum and Woody Guthrie Center’s celebration of folk singer Pete Seeger on Feb. 22 at the Peter Norton Symphony Space in New York City will continue as planned. Seeger was scheduled to accept the first-ever Woody Guthrie Prize award and perform at the event. Seeger died on Jan. 27.

'GRAMMY NOMINEES' ALBUM AIMING FOR FIRST NO. 1 ON BILLBOARD 200

The long-running "Grammy Nominees" compilation series may nab its first No. 1 next week on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry sources suggest that the new "2014 Grammy Nominees" compilation -- which boasts an array of artists and songs honored at this year's Grammy Awards -- may sell upwards of 85,000 by the end of the tracking week on Feb. 2.

PAUL CANTOR, FORMER WILLIAM MORRIS & SCEPTER RECORDS EXEC, DIES AT 86

Paul Cantor, an agent at William Morris in the 1950s who went on to manage pop stars such as Dionne Warwick and B.J. Thomas, has died. He was 86. Cantor died Jan. 17 of natural causes at his home in Dana Point, Calif., his son Marc told The Hollywood Reporter.

KOBALT/STIM PARTNERSHIP CONCLUDES SEVEN LICENSING DEALS SINCE LAST MARCH

Kobalt Music Group's pan-European licensing partnership with STIM, the Stockholm, Sweden-based collection society, has concluded seven licensing deals since being formed in March 2013. iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Google, Amazon, Napster and Vevo have been the beneficiary of multi-territory licensing through the Kobalt/STIM partnership, also known as Kobalt STIM Aggregated Rights AB.

GLORIA ESTEFAN, RUBEN BLADES AMONG NOMINEES TO LATIN SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME

Gloria Estefan, Ruben Blades and Ricardo Arjona are among the 24 singer/songwriters and composers nominated to the 2013 Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame and its La Musa Awards. Nominees were announced at a press conference in Miami on Monday.

A new site called Forgotify has been launched in a bid to get people to listen to the four million tracks left unheard on Spotify. Spotify users can now login to Forgotify to listen to tracks that no one else has listened to on the site.
