John Legend, Samsung Align For Tour Dates, Social Media Partnership (Exclusive)

John Legend has teamed with Samsung for a series of five concerts on his Made to Love Tour this month, beginning with Sunday’s (Nov. 10) show in Chicago, for the Legend and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear fan sweepstakes.

One fan in each of the five participating cities will win the chance to become Legend’s social media correspondent at each event, and post live updates from backstage throughout the show. Fans can enter here. Other markets include Detroit (Nov. 12), Cleveland (Nov. 16), Milwaukee (Nov. 18) and Minneapolis (Nov. 19).
 
“I always love to surprise my fans,” Legend tells Billboard.biz in a statement. “I wouldn’t be where I am without their ongoing support, so it’s nice to have the opportunity to meet them in an up close and personal setting like this.”
 
An additional 40 winners in each city will be randomly selected to win tickets and entry into a special VIP sound-check, with meet-and-greets and photos with Legend prior to each show. The partnership was brokered by branding agency MAC Presents on behalf of Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile).
 
Legend is touring in support of fourth studio album, “Love In The Future,” which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 4 in September and has steadily sold in the weeks since, currently sitting at No. 35 in its ninth week on the chart. His 2004 debut, “Get Lifted,” sold more than two million copies and won the singer several Grammys, while 2006 follow-up went platinum and brought an additional Grammy trophy. 2008’s “Evolver” featured the hit “Green Light” with Andre 3000, and 2010 collaborative album “Wake Up!” with the Roots earned another three Grammy Awards for Legend.
 
Troy Carter and Ty Stiklorius manage legend at Atom Factory. As of this week, he is the firm’s star client. Carter parted ways with longtime artist Lady Gaga on Monday, but has played an active role in setting up Legend for his “Future” opportunities on the team’s first album cycle together. In June, the singer appeared on-camera in a national commercial for Chevrolet’s Impala, featuring new single “Made To Love,” and Legend has also performed private concerts for CBS, Clear Channel and Walmart Soundcheck as further promotion.

“Love In The Future” was produced by longtime collaborators Kanye West and Dave Tozer.
