Tom Carrabba has been appointed executive VP/GM of RED Associated Labels.
Carrabba will oversee RED’s newly created label services division, which will provide marketing and radio radio promotion for select Sony Music venture partner releases distributed through RED. Some of those ventures include Salaam Remi’s Louder Than Life, Jolene Cherry’s the Cherry Party and Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records.
The first release through RED Associated Labels will be Mack Wilds’ debut album, “New York: A Love Story.” Other projects from the Cherry Party and Kemosabe are slated for the next several months.
Carrabba is based in New York and report to RED Distribution president Bob Morelli
“We are excited to be adding Tom to the RED team. He is a seasoned and accomplished executive who understands how to work with artists and labels, and how to successfully set up, launch and follow through on artist releases,” Morelli said in a statement. “In leading RED Associated Labels, he will allow us to support the titles we distribute from SME venture partners with high-quality label services that are essential to maximizing an artist’s impact and presence in the marketplace.”
Carrabba previously served as executive VP/GM of Jive Records, where he oversaw Jive, LaFace, Volcano and Verity Labels. In 2006, he was named executive VP/GM of the Zomba Label Group. He started his career in 1988 as marketing director at RCA Records.
