The Weinstein Co. Will Distribute "Can a Song Save Your Life?"
The Weinstein Co. will distribute "Can a Song Save Your Life?", director John Carney's film about a record producer (Mark Ruffalo) and an aspiring musician (Keira Knightly) with a cast that includes Adam Levine and Mos Def.

The Weinstein Co. has purchased the U.S. distribution rights for $7 million with a commitment of $20 million in advertising. The deal was announced at the Toronto International Film Festival.

At the Toronto premiere of the concert film "12.12.12," Harvey Weinstein provided behind-the-scenes stories about how the organizers of the Hurricane Sandy benefit attempted to get Led Zeppelin to play. Robert Plant said yes, provided Jimmy Page also agreed. Weinstein then asked former President Bill Clinton to made the request, and Page said no, Weinstein said during a post-screening Q&A. President Obama was then called in to make an appeal to Page, who again declined. "He's got as lawyer who's Satan or something like that," Weinstein said, according to media reports.

Elton John to Perform Tribute to Liberace at Emmys
Elton John will perform a tribute to Liberace on the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 22. It will be the first time John has performed on the Emmys. Liberace is the subject of the HBO film “Behind the Candelabra”, which is nominated for 15 Emmy Awards. The film's stars, Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, will be part of the presentation.

Cher, Ed Sheeran, Miguel to Join "The Voice"
Cher, Ed Sheeran, Ryan Tedder and Miguel will join this season of NBC’s “The Voice” as advisers to the show's coaches. Cher will work with Blake Shelton; Sheeran joins forces with Christina Aguilera; Tedder is on Team Adam Levine; and Miguel will assist CeeLo Green. The season starts Sept. 23.

Arcade Fire, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry to Guest on "SNL"
Arcade Fire, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry will be the musical guests on the first three episodes of "Saturday Night Live" this fall. Arcade Fire will make their fourth appearance on the show, appearing in the 39th season opener on Sept. 28; Cyrus appears on Oct. 5 as host and musical guest; and Perry, making her second appearance, is booked for Oct. 12 with Bruce Willis as host.

Milan to Release Soundtracks to "Thanks for Sharing"
Milan Records will release two soundtracks on Sept. 17 for the film "Thanks for Sharing", which stars Tim Robbins, Mark Ruffalo, Pink and Josh Gad. The song collection features a new track from Craig Wedren plus music from Elvis Costello, the Mountain Goats, St. Vincent, Family of the Year and others. The second features Chris Lennertz' score for the film. Watch the trailer below.
