David Lynch the auteur and musician can now officially add "coffee roaster" to his résumé.
The "Blue Velvet" director, who released his second album, "The Big Dream," in July, announced via Twitter that his signature line of beans, which includes an organic house blend, organic espresso blend and a decaf house blend, hit the shelves at select Whole Foods stores in Southern California. Among them: locations in the Los Angeles area including West Hollywood and The Grove.
The roasts range in price from $10.90 per pound to $13.10 and can also be ordered online.
According to the Whole Foods website, Lynch "established an extensive, personalized tasting method" and eventually narrowed the roasts down to three.
Beans for the organic house blend come from the Sierra Madre mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico; the espresso medium-dark roast is described as "ideal for the perfect cup of coffee or caffe latte" and hails from Central American and Indonesian beans; while the decaf dark roast is a blend of beans from the Americas, East Africa, Arabia and the islands of the Pacific Rim.
