Orchard Global Media Group has forged an alliance with AC&T, a direct-marketing company based in Australia.

The Orchard-a New York-based umbrella retail and Internet distribution organization for some 2,500 indie labels-is providing distribution services outside the Australia region to a new AC&T venture, Amped Music. As part of the agreement, artists and labels affiliated with Amped-which will act as a distribution service for repertoire from Down Under-will be made available to the Orchard's digital distribution network, which includes Napster, MusicMatch and eMusic.

The Orchard is looking to the pact as a model for other international deals it expects to ink moving forward.
