Koch Entertainment Distribution (KED) in Port Washington, N.Y., has beefed up its video distribution side with the hiring of Dan Gurlitz as VP of video. Gurlitz, formerly VP/GM of home video at Wellspring Video, reports to KED president Michael Rosenberg.

The KED video sales staff reports to Gurlitz. Personnel include newly hired Chicago-based director of video sales Janet Baker and Nashville-based video regional sales manager Kathy Gilbert. They join two KED veterans based in New Jersey: video regional sales manager Dan Zilka and video special markets sales manager Joe Deuidicibus. Director of video marketing Lucille Deane also reports to Gurlitz.

KED plans to release more than 200 video titles this year. Its distributed labels include Animal Band, AnimEigo, Artemis, Brainy Baby, Detroit Public Television, Epitaph, Full Moon, Koch Lorber, Koch Vision, Mode, Moonshine, Passport International, Shadow and Shanachie.

Top forthcoming titles include Artemis' VH1 special "Inside Out: Warren Zevon" (February); Koch Vision's "Best of the Improv" with Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen Degeneres, Chris Rock, Margaret Cho and Drew Carey (March); and Koch Lorber's restored version of the Jacques Demy musical "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" (April).
