Sony rock act Kashmir and Medley/EMI artist Tim Christensen lead the nominations for the Danish Music Awards, to be held Feb. 28 in the Copenhagen Forum. Each earned seven nods, including best album, rock album, male vocalist, single, rock act and cover. Kashmir is up for best video, while Christensen is named in the production category.

Playground's Mew nabbed six nominations. International acts Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Dido and Evanescence each took two.

The ceremony is arranged by Welcome Event Marketing for the IFPI. Nominees in the 20 categories were chosen by an independent academy. Ten of the awards will be chosen by popular vote sent in via SMS, and an industry panel will select the other 10.
