Contrary to a report yesterday on radio station WBLS New York, Sylvia Rhone is not leaving her post as chairman of Elektra Entertainment Group, according to a Warner Music Group representative.

"Sylvia is the active chairman of Elektra Entertainment, and anything else is rumor and speculation," says a WMG spokesperson.

WMG says WBLS plans to air a retraction.

Meanwhile, sources say WMG's sale to a consortium that includes Edgar Bronfman Jr. could close as soon as two weeks from now.

WMG denies speculation in the New York Post that Roger Ames may exit as chairman/CEO after the deal. "I love the Warner Music Group, its artists and its employees and have every desire to continue to build a great music company with our new partners," Ames says in a statement.
