With four awards, French rock act Kyo was the big winner Saturday at the 5th annual NRJ Music Awards in Cannes. The local Jive-signed act won the French album, song and group of the year categories, and claimed the international Website award.

Dido, the only other multiple winner on the night, was on hand to collect best international female artist and international artist of the year honors.

Other winners included Linkin Park, who took the international group accolade; Evanescence, for international breakthrough of the year; and Justin Timberlake, who was named best international male artist.

Beyonce, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue were among the international artists who attended the gala.

The awards are the result of a partnership between the French pop radio network NRJ, the country's national commercial TV broadcaster TF1 and MIDEM, the industry trade fair.

According to an NRJ spokesman, the live broadcast on TF1 drew a 33% audience share.
