Warner Bros. Records and Fox have inked a deal to issue a series of albums based on the network's popular TV series "The O.C." The first project will come out March 30; subsequent releases will street approximately every three months.

The first soundtrack will feature Phantom Planet, whose song "California" is the show's theme, as well as Spoon, Jet, Doves, the Dandy Warhols and some unsigned artists, such as L.A. favorites Alexi Murdoch and the 88.

There are no plans to release a single from the project.
