George King is resigning as managing partner/president of creative for Christian music company the Butterfly Group to concentrate on his partnership in Dove Canyon Films. He will retain his stock in the Butterfly Group and will stay on as a consultant.

King founded the Butterfly Group in spring 2002 with Bob Carlisle (of "Butterfly Kisses" fame) and businessman Mike Rinaldi. It was sold to Fusion Entertainment in October 2003, with King and Rinaldi staying on at the helm. Carlisle exited last year.

King will begin work next month directing a film about a professional wrestler named Sting. CEO Rinaldi will continue to run the Butterfly Group with head of operations Brad Mathias. The Nashville-based company comprises the Christian Records, Gospel 1, Flying Leap and Butterfly Kids labels; the artist roster includes Russ Lee and Greg Long.
