Music Row veteran Gene Hughes died Tuesday of complications from pneumonia and a broken neck received during a recent auto accident. He was 67.

Hughes sang lead vocals with '60s pop group the Casinos, best known for the 1966 hit "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye." In the '80s, he served as VP of promotion for MCA Records Nashville before launching his own successful independent promotion firm.
