The first new studio album for 35 years to carry the name of seminal 1960s U.K. band the Zombies will be released in Britain Apr. 26. Original members Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent have collaborated under the group name on "As Far as I Can See...," due on the Redhouse label with distribution by Absolute/Universal.

The Zombies' last studio release was the widely influential "Odessey & Oracle," which appeared in 1969 after the original five-piece had disbanded.

European release of the new album is also planned on BMG for Benelux and MGM in Germany, via Alive AG. Blunstone and Argent are currently touring the U.S. and will mount a full-scale U.K. tour in support of the album, a 23-date itinerary running March 4-April 30.

The new project follows the Jan. 27 live reunion of all five original Zombies at House of Blues Los Angeles, at an all-star benefit concert and dinner for guitarist Paul Atkinson.
