ASCAP has named Howard Shore as the latest recipient of the Henry Mancini Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The award, which honors Shore's outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of film and television music, will be presented April 21 at the 19th annual ASCAP Film and Television Awards gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The Grammy, Golden Globe and Oscar-winning Shore has scored a number of films, including "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "Silence of the Lambs," "Philadelphia" and "Gangs of New York."
