Pop singer Catterfeld, who is signed to RCA, is in the running for best national rock/pop female artist, rock/pop single, newcomer and newcomer video.

Virgin-signed pop group Wir Sind Helden is up fornational rock/pop group, newcomer, radio newcomer and newcomer video.

German "Pop Idol" contestants Alexander Klaws (Hansa/BMG) and Daniel Küblböck (Hansa/BMG) each received three nods, as did U.S. band Evanescence. As previously reported, Anastacia, Pink, Kylie Minogue, Scooter and Enrique Iglesias are lined up to perform.

In a breakout of nominations by label, BMG is the leader with 31, followed by Universal (26), EMI (21) and Warner (15). The annual event, presented for the first time in 1992, has 26 categories.
