U.K. independent retail chain Music Zone reports "record" 2003 revenues of £63 million ($118), up 20% on the previous year. Operating profits however were not revealed.

During the period, the retailer introduced a further eight outlets nationwide, bringing the total number to 46.

Looking ahead, recently-appointed managing director Steve Oliver says the company will push on with an "aggressive expansion program." Details on the location of its 50th store will be announced shortly.

Founded as a single-store operation in Stockport, England, the company this year celebrates its 20th anniversary.
