Paul McCartney has teamed with Miramax to release a DVD collection of animation shorts he wrote and produced. "Paul McCartney: The Music and Animation Collection" will be available April 13 for $29.99.

The DVD contains the three animated film shorts "Rupert and the Frog Song," "Tropic Island Hum" and "Tuesday." Each are directed by Geoff Dunbar and feature voices and music by McCartney.

McCartney and Dunbar began collaborating on animation shorts in the early 1980s. "Rupert and the Frog Song," about children's book character Rupert the Bear, won a British Academy Award for best animated short film in 1984. "Tuesday," a story about the nocturnal adventures of flying frogs, was nominated for a British Academy Award in 2002. "Tropic Island Hum" follows the adventures of a squirrel who travels to an island populated only by other animals.

The DVD's extra features include an interview with McCartney, "The Making of 'Tropic Island Hum'" featurette and line drawings from "Tuesday."
