Singer/songwriter Stephan Smith has signed a three-album exclusive worldwide licensing deal with Artemis Records for his Universal Hobo Records imprint. Artemis has set a June 8 release for Smith's "Slash and Burn," his first album recorded with a band.

Smith's debut "Now's the Time" was released in 1999 on Rounder Records; "New World Wonder" was issued last year on Universal Hobo. The singer had a minor radio hit in 2002 with the anti-war song "The Bell," which he issued as a free MP3 via the Internet. He later released the track as part of an EP on Universal Hobo.
