BMG has confirmed the realignment of its U.S. labels, first tipped here yesterday.

Barry Weiss has taken the new title of president/CEO of Zomba Label Group. He was president of Jive. New York-based Weiss reports to BMG North America chairman Clive Davis.

As expected, Zomba has been expanded to include LaFace Records and So So Def Records, and will take on key A&R and marketing personnel from those imprints. LaFace and So So Def acts -- including OutKast, Usher, Pink, J-Kwon, Jermaine Dupri and Anthony Hamilton -- will now be under Zomba. Also moving to Zomba will be Kelis and Clipse, artists who have been on the Neptunes' Star Trak label but remain under contract with BMG. The Star Trak imprint, meanwhile, is reportedly moving to Interscope.

As previously reported, Arista Records has been moved under the RCA Music Group umbrella but will retain scaled-down A&R and marketing staffs. Among the more than 100 layoffs expected from the BMG changes was the entire 10-person Arista publicity team.
