Classical crossover violinist Vanessa-Mae has signed an exclusive worldwide recording deal with Sony Classical. The 26-year-old is currently working on an album inspired by worldwide dance rhythms, produced by Rob Dickins (Cher, Enya, Rod Stewart, the Pretenders).
The set -- which includes music by Vangelis, Riverdance's Bill Whelan and Indian film composer A.R. Rahman -- will be released internationally in September and in the United States in early 2005.
Vanessa-Mae's previous albums have been released through EMI. Sony claims that her worldwide sales exceed 8 million units.
