MusicNet is opening an office in the United Kingdom, with an eye toward international expansion. The digital-music service is moving Mark Mooradian, senior director of strategic planning and business development, to London to oversee the effort.

Mooradian will be responsible for forging MusicNet partnerships outside the United States. He will also continue to coordinate MusicNet's existing relationships with record labels and companies responsible for music publishing and licensing.

The news comes on the heels of MusicNet's recent deal with Virgin Entertainment Group's Virgin Digital to develop a download store and subscription music club for the company.
