Former House of Blues (HOB) senior VP Larry Vallon is the latest high-profile concert business executive to join AEG Live in Los Angeles.

Vallon has been named AEG Live's senior VP of national booking, effective this month. He will oversee the booking operations of AEG's regional offices and assist in the securing of national tours.

Vallon will report to Jay Marciano, chief strategic officer for AEG Live's regional offices, and John Meglen, president of Concerts West, AEG's national touring division. Vallon previously worked for Marciano when the latter was president of HOB Concerts. All report to Randy Phillips, president/CEO of AEG Live.

"Larry is a class act joining a class organization, if I do say myself," Phillips tells Billboard.biz. "We're thrilled to have him. He fills a missing piece of the puzzle."

Vallon is a 23-year veteran of HOB, dating back to when it was MCA Concerts and then Universal Concerts. The unit was purchased by HOB for $190 million in 1999.

Vallon is the latest in a string of high-profile personnel appointments by AEG, including Ali Harnell in Nashville and Louis Messina in Houston, both formerly with Clear Channel Entertainment; Susan Rosenbluth, a 22-year veteran of Nederlander Organization; and Marciano.
