Universal Music Germany's interim president Vico Antippas will move to London at the beginning of 2005, Billboard.biz has learned.

Antippas will take up a new position as senior VP at Universal Music International (UMI). He will continue to report to UMI chairman/CEO Jorgen Larsen, who is also non-executive chairman of Universal Music Germany.

Currently based in Berlin, Antippas has been interim head of the German company since the departure in January of former CEO Tim Renner.

In a note to staff, obtained by Billboard.biz, Larsen says Antippas will stay in Berlin for a two- to three-month transition period once newly appointed Universal Music Germany CEO Frank Briegmann joins the company. The arrival date for Briegmann, who is currently BMG's Germany head of international, has yet to be confirmed.

Larsen says that in his new position, Antippas will be "in charge of a significant part of our European business."

Commenting on the recent changes in Germany, Larsen wrote, "Once these changes have been completed, I know that Universal Music Germany will -- in a changing, challenging market -- redefine its own high standards as the industry leader, and prove more successful than ever."

UMI declined comment.
