Missy Elliott has inked a deal with Adidas to launch a sportswear line called Respect Me. The collection, which will bow at U.S. retail in September and globally in November, will include athletic shoes, exercise apparel and accessories.

Adidas describes Respect Me as having "old-school street credibility" while appealing to "hip-hop's newer generation." The majority of the clothing line will be for women, although some items will be unisex. A portion of the proceeds from Respect Me will benefit Break the Cycle, a nonprofit organization aimed at ending domestic violence.

Elliott is currently on the Verizon Ladies First Tour with Beyoncé and Alicia Keys. The tour concludes April 21 in at Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, Calif.
