Graham, N.C.-based indie Yep Roc Records has inked a multi-album deal with roots-rocker Dave Alvin. The first release under the deal, "Ashgrove," is due June 15. It and Alvin's next album will be distributed worldwide by Yep Roc.

"Ashgrove" will be Alvin's seventh solo studio set and first in four years. Greg Leisz, a frequent collaborator who has played guitar and pedal steel on many of Alvin's albums, as well as with the Blasters, produced the set, which features originals co-written by Alvin with the Iguanas' Rod Hodges and Louie Perez and David Hidalgo from Los Lobos.

Alvin will kick off a brief European tour April 30 in Belgium. A North American summer tour will get underway June 16 in Springfield, Mo., and will include dates with new labelmates Los Straitjackets, as well as stops at blues festivals in Ottawa, Toronto and Long Beach, Calif.
