Swiss broadcast and recording equipment manufacturer Studer Professional Audio has inked a deal with Soundcraft Canada to distribute its product range in Canada.

Soundcraft Canada president Jean Daoust has formed Studer Canada as a new entity, with its own sales and marketing efforts independent of Soundcraft Canada. Studer Canada and Soundcraft Canada share a facility in Montreal's LaSalle district.

Tibor Tamas, a 26-year veteran of Studer, has relocated from Europe to Montreal to serve as Studer Canada's sales support engineer. Tamas will also help Daoust find a dedicated national sales manager for the brand.

"With Studer Canada now very competently handling our Canadian distribution and Harman Pro North America similarly in charge of the U.S. marketplace, Studer once again has a solid sales and marketing infrastructure within North America," Studer president Bruno Hochstrasser says in a statement.

Soundcraft Canada is the distributor for many of Studer's sibling Harman Professional brands, including BSS, Crown, dbx, JBL and Lexicon. Soundcraft, part of the Harman Pro Group, is a U.K.-based console manufacturer.
