Veteran artist k.d. lang begins her first tour with a symphony orchestra April 30 at Houston's Jones Hall for the Performing Arts. Audi of America will be the presenting sponsor for more than half of the 46 North American performances.

The tour, which plays theaters, amphitheatres and performing arts centers, will be a career retrospective and also include material from lang's forthcoming album "Hymns of the 49th Parallel," slated for a summer release on Warner Bros.

Audi's sponsorship builds upon the carmaker's inclusion of lang in its 2003 "Never Follow" campaign. The tour has dates on the books until Oct. 17 at Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Lang is booked by Fred Bohlander at Monterey Peninsula Artists, and managed by Marin Kirkup.
