Island Def Jam is letting go of a handful of employees, sources tell Billboard.biz, with most of the casualties coming from the radio promotion department. Among those cut were Lauren Wirtzer, who was the assistant to Def Jam president Kevin Liles, and senior director of rhythm crossover promotion Motti Shulman.

Mid-Atlantic promotion manager Noah Sheer was promoted and will replace Shulman. Other cuts in the radio department include Patrick O'Connor, Chonita Floyd and Darcell Lawrence. It was unknown if any of the positions will be filled.

A spokesperson from Def Jam parent Universal Music Group declined to comment.
