Atari will launch a video game based on urban culture and graffiti art under a partnership with urban-fashion designer Marc Ecko.

A sneak peek at Ecko's "Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure" game will be available at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles May 12-14. In graffiti terms, "getting up" means getting your name (or tag) out and visible.

"Videogames have become a huge part of the urban lifestyle. Marc fuses his expert knowledge of youth culture, his talent as a graphic artist and his passion for gaming," says Bruno Bonnell, chairman and CEO of Atari. Ecko is equally enthusiastic about the venture: "This game will be genre-defining. Revolutionary."

Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, which is being developed by the Collective, is currently slated for release in June 2005.
