Dimensional Associates, Inc., the New York-based private equity arm of JDS Capital Management, Inc. has acquired the 25% of Digital Club Network it didn't already own and integrated the service with its eMusic subscription service.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
In November 2003, Dimensional Associates purchased a two-thirds controlling interest in Digital Club Network, which was subsequently renamed eMusicLive.
EMusicLive content will become a part of eMusic's current subscription service.
EMusicLive captures original live performances from new and established artists through a exclusive nationwide network of live-music venues including the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., the Metro in Chicago and Maxwell's in Hoboken, N.J.
"EMusicLive offers eMusic subscribers the ability to download and enjoy live music from some of the best independent live-music venues across America," says Dimensional CEO Danny Stein in a statement.
EMusic, a subscription service for independent music, distributes more than 1 million downloads per month from a catalog of more than 400,000 tracks. Tracks are delivered in the MP3 format.
Last month, eMusic and eMusicLive launched a digital-download kiosk that will be installed at eMusicLive venues. Fans will be able to see a live show and then purchase an MP3 of the full night's performance on a USB 2.0 pen drive within five minutes of the last song. Fans can also use the kiosks to initiate a free trial subscription to eMusic and then download the show at no charge as part of their free 50-song eMusic trial subscription.
