Philadelphia-based facility management firm Global Spectrum has named Rob Sobolik as GM of the Fargodome, the 27,000-seat multi-purpose facility in Fargo, N.D.

Sobolik, a 12-year employee of the Fargodome, was most recently assistant GM of the facility. He succeeds the outgoing Paul Johnson, and will report to Global Spectrum regional VP Neil Sulkes.

As GM, Sobolik will oversee day-to-day operations of the facility, including booking and budgeting, all operational aspects and food and beverage services. He will also serve as Global Spectrum's representative to the Fargodome Authority, the city organization that oversees the building.

In other news, Global Spectrum has promoted Rick Hontz to GM of the Budweiser Events Center at the Ranch in Larimer County, Colo.

Hontz, who was assistant GM at the 7,200-seat arena, replaces Ann Larson and reports to Global Spectrum regional VP Dean Dennis. Hontz was an instrumental member of the facility's opening last September.

In his new role, Hontz will continue to strengthen the relationship with the other facilities within the Ranch Complex, as well as with the county. He will work closely with touring artists, promoters and event planners to bring events to Northern Colorado.
